SusWot swap stall at Local produce market

Following the success of the swap stall at the recent Westbury on Trym Flower show, SusWot will be having a regular stall at the Westbury Local produce market.  Bring unwanted gifts books, or garden produce and swap it for something on the stall.  If you do not have anything to swap, you are welcome to take something in return for a donation to SusWot. Unfortunately we cannot take large items such as furniture. The next market is on Saturday 24th September, 9am to 1pm at Westbury on Trym Primary Care Centre (near the Methodist church).

SusWot is pleased to support the 32nd Westbury-On-Trym Flower Show at the Village Hall 11am to 5pm Saturday 10th September 2011.

Bring your excess vegetables and unwanted gifts to swap and share to the SusWot tent in the rear garden.  There you will also find information on SusWot and sustainable initiatives in the local area and competitions.

Project to Reduce the Waste of Fresh Food

SusWot is looking for people to help with this project.  We are going to try to reduce the amount of fresh produce that is wasted in Westbury.  For example there are hundreds of fruit trees where some of the fruit is not harvested, allotments and gardens where crops are not used because there is so much.  But there will still be people buying food in the village.

We are planning to have stalls at the W-o-T Flower Show (10 September)  and
the Produce Market in September and October where we could possibly sell  or
barter the produce.
It may be that we can do a deal whereby this produce
could be ‘sold’ through our local greengrocers.  All ideas are welcome.

We will need many people to collect and distribute any produce and manage
the process.

If you would like to be part of this project please email me and I will get
in touch ( and organise a meeting of those
