We have an extra working party session on the community garden this Friday 18 May from 4pm.
Simon will be showing us how to plant a ‘keyhole’ plot with vegetables and salad crops.
The herb garden path is now in place, to the delight of the local kids and staff at Valentinos, who all came to have a look on Saturday evening!
Plans for our official opening on 9 June are coming on well. We have some very special (and unusual) guests coming and fantastic raffle prizes (£50 meal for 2 at Valentinos for example), so it should be a great afternoon.
Please forward the attached flyer to friends and family – and don’t forget to bee there yourself!
We would be grateful for any cuttings/produce from your garden for the plant stall. Just let Jane Nash Mary Cutts or myself know if you have anything you can pot up/spare.
Don’t forget to come along on Friday and learn something new.
Behind the Stoke Lane shops is an overgrown and neglected allotment. There are dates for community digs and clearing as the site has been left unattended for sometime. The project to revive it is being run by Mary Rivers, a SusWot member. If you would like more information, or wish to get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put you in contact with Mary.
